The FCE, CAE and CPE are set at the B2, C1 and C2 levels respectively of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework for modern languages.

FCE – First Certificate in English

The FCE is an upper intermediate level exam and recognises the ability to deal confidently with a range of written and spoken communications. It is set at Level B2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for modern languages.

FCE for Schools – First Certificate in English for Schools

The FCE is an upper intermediate level exam and recognises the ability to deal confidently with a range of written and spoken communications. The content and treatment of the topics in FCE for Schools have been particularly targeted at the interests and experience of school students. It is set at Level B2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for modern languages.

CAE – Certificate in Advanced English

The CAE is an advanced exam and recognises the ability to communicate with confidence in English. It is set at Level C1 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for modern languages.

CPE – Certificate of Proficiency in English

The CPE is a very advanced exam approaching a standard of English similar to that of an educated native speaker. It is set at Level C2 of the Council of Europe's Common European Framework for modern languages.
